About Marie Greene

Hello, I'm Marie Greene!

I've been knitting since the age of ten, and not just knitting – but addicted to knitting. I love wool, independent dyers and sweaters. I have a ridiculous number of projects on my needles at all times and I wake up every day excited to be alive because, knitting.

I've taught workshops and private lessons for the last fifteen years, and have been an independent designer since 2013. Before my life in knitwear design I was a hospital finance project manager, freelance writer and business coach. My job as an instructor is to not just educate and inspire, but to ensure that my students find the process as engaging as it is enlightening.

I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and we are the parents of three grown(ish) sons. When I'm not designing knitwear, I'm traveling (with knitting), reading (and knitting) or throwing dinner parties (with other knitters).

My knitting philosophy:
  1. There are no tragic consequences in knitting, unless you sit on a sharp needle.
  2. Less is usually more (except when it comes to a yarn stash, in which case more is more).
  3. Anyone can knit if they really want to.
  4. Always, always, always bring your knitting wherever you go. You never know when you might be trapped in an elevator.
