The Phoenix Sweater

This five week course with sweater-knitter-extraordinaire Jill will teach you the fundamentals of knitting a yoked sweater from the top-down.

Course Outline: 

  • Swatching and choosing the right size
  • German Short Rows and Modified KFBs
  • Slip-stitch colorwork and following a chart
  • Dividing your work at the armholes
  • Hems and the tubular bind-off
  • Phoenix pattern (purchase in-store from Ravelry)
  • Worsted weight yarn, 896 (940, 1006, 1071, 1115, 1181) yds of Main Color, 98 (109, 120, 131, 142, 153) yds of Constrast Color (our sample uses Blue Sky Woolstok)
  • 24 or 32" circular, 16" circular, and 12" circular or double-pointed needles in your gauge size and one size smaller

Skill Level: intermediate
Skill Details: Must be comfortable following basic patterns and knitting basic items in the round.
